EDWARD LEIDA

Beautifully-shot behind-the-scenes look at W magazine with narration by Edward Leida, the magazine’s design director.

TONY WARD

Ever wanted to rough up Tony Ward? Well, thanks to Wrangler, here’s your chance.

Oh, and here’s a Volvo advert with Mr Ward from 1996.

That’s all. Peace out.

WIRED V WIRED

In the red (left) corner we have Wired UK. In the blue (right), Wired US. Same cover story; same concept; different tool.

And the winner is… Wired US (because the tool has USA engraved on it… although you probably can’t make that out in the little image above). Americans, that’s a classy touch. Sorry Brits.

UNHAPPY HIPSTERS

Gotta love a blog devoted to magazines. Natch. But recent find Unhappy Hipsters is something super special. I’ll never look at Dwell magazine the same again. (Thanks Dan for the heads up.)

DAZED

Submissions for Dazed & Confused magazine’s Decade Drawn Out competition close on February 15th. Groovy.

The above illustration is by Gym Class Magazine fav John Paul Thurlow. He created the front cover art for Gym Class Magazine #03 and has also kindly contributed an illustration for Gym Class Magazine #05. Mucho respecto. Stay tuned for more details soon. But in the meantime, hit up the link. Peace out.

APPLE IPAD

Sexy pics of the new Apple iPad over in Wired magazine’s Gadget Lab.

RAPHA

OMG. Hot! Rapha.

NATHALIE KIRSHEH

Nathalie Kirsheh is the Art Director at W Magazine.

MICHAEL BIERUT

Grab yourself a coffee. Pentagram’s Michael Bierut talks about clients.

GQ IPHONE APP

Groovy little iPhone application of American GQ. I’m excited to see what Conde Nast can do with their magazines on Apple’s iPad. Exciting times, peeps.

Just one major criticism… although each app is a self-contained issue of the magazine (content is not updated), an internet connection is still required to use the downloaded app. Bummer… so it’s no good while riding the Tube or on a flight. It also makes some of the app’s functions painfully slow.

The app is available to download from the iTunes Store each month for £1.79. More info here
